"In Our Own Voice - Learning To Tell Personal Stories For Empowerment."

This half-day workshop focuses on the Empowerment of Storytelling .

This six-hour workshop focuses on storytelling for women’s empowerment. We all carry life experiences within our bodies, minds and spirit. This participatory class teaches how to tell our own stories and solicit freedom from fear, negativity, illness or whatever issue precludes our enjoying life to the fullest. After listening to worldwide healing and sacred folktales, we will discuss how these varied stories relate to our own personal story and to each other. Included in the class will be writing opportunities, interactive exercises and group discussions to aid in finding our individual tales. Also, each student will create an "Empowerment Story" art card to keep.

Susi Wolf's greatest passion is storytelling and using it to impact people’s lives. Her credentials include a rich career as a life coach and energy healer, corporate trainer, facilitator, entertainment performer, published writer, nonprofit manager and more.

Other Workshops

• "First You Speak." Focused on teaching beginning storytelling to interested adults, teachers, librarians and more. Learn the basics of storytelling, the history of oral tradition and how to "find your own voice" within this ancient art. Handouts will be given, including resources so students can continue learning on their own.

• "Using Storytelling In the Corporate World." An opportunity to explore the power of narrative to increase sales, resolve human resource matters, build teams and leaders - and all within the business arena. Storytelling is an ancient tradition that packages information in a memorable way. Facts and figures are linear, while storytelling captures a listener’s attention and imagination. Stories evoke memories and personal associations. If you want to connect with your target market - tell a story! In this interactive workshop, you will learn the most compelling ways to incorporate the six broad areas of storytelling into your business model. Practice individually and work in small groups to explore storytelling for your organization. 

• "In Our Own Voice - Storytelling for Personal Empowerment."

After listening to worldwide healing and sacred folktales, we will discuss how these varied stories relate to our own personal story and to each other. Included in the class will be writing opportunities, interactive exercises and group discussions to aid in finding our individual tales. Also, each student will create an "Empowerment Story" art card to keep. Here is an example of what an art card looks like:

• "Who Cares For the Caregiver?" A workshop for therapists, teachers, nurses and all caregivers who experience stress, burnout and depression.

• "Using Storytelling In the Classroom." This is a highly effective workshop for teachers for understanding the history of oral tradition and the beneficial usage of storytelling in the classroom. This workshop is very interactive and teachers will leave with exercises they can implement into their classrooms immediately.

• "Talking Medicine: Honoring the Healing In Storytelling." Focused on instructing therapists, counselors and case workers, this class will explore the viability and practical application of metaphor within the healing community. This workshop teaches the true art and power of healing storytelling and how it impacts individuals.

• "Sacred Bread Crumbs: Follow the Trail of Healing Throughout Storytelling." Explore the healing power of Story as it permeates all aspects of the human experience. This seminar is designed for experienced tellers; we recognize the responsibility that comes with touching lives and souls through oral tradition. Susi Wolf's belief is that all storytelling is healing and tellers are needed in our community more than ever. We can use the sacred power of Story in everyday lives. As part of her teaching, she will share her storytelling experiences within the therapeutic community, as well as other venues.

• "Survival Tips For Having a Successful Children's Party." This workshop offers useful information to parents to ensure a successful party event. Topics covered include: Making the Party Age-Appropriate; Theme Building; Steps To Organizing; Who Do We Invite?; Eat, Drink and Be Merry; 10 Great Ideas You Can Build On; Resources On a Budget; Hiring Entertainment; and more.
